Castel del Monte
Thirteenth-century building built by Emperor Frederick II in Puglia, in the current homonymous hamlet of the municipality of Andria, near Santa Maria del Monte. It is located on a hill in the Western Murgia chain, 540 meters above sea level. The nearest urban centers are Andria (18 km), Ruvo di Puglia and Corato (21 km). It was included in the list of Italian national monuments in 1936 and in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1996.
